    Default another "what is this" post

    always wondered what exactly this thing over/in the rear crossmember handle is- I am sure many know.

    Is it the bottom support for one of those hi-lift jacks? Just guessing! Best regards, Bil

    that or an attachment point for a ladder?

    Rear tyre mounting point? Where the swinging tyre mount hooks in a the bottom. The "handle" is a bumperette, that much I do know

    Hi-lift jack bottom mounting point gets my vote.

    I guess I'll have to get a high lift and try it out.

    It doesn't have any threads or anything like that, just those two studs sticking up. It seems pretty heavy duty so I thought about the swing out tire holder but there are no indications of any other brackets being installed anywhere else.

    that is the bumper posts for the tail gate, I had two little reflectors that I stuck on there, no rhyme or reason. Honestly I'm surprised they are still there.
