I have imported a lot of Withams trucks for clients. They have been quite happy with them. Yes the sales people can be pragmatic. I once had a semi car carrier sit there for three hours to pick up trucks and the sales man couldn't be found so after 3 hours the driver had to get on with life.

if you search "gumtree australia" on google you can find the down under classifieds site. There are a lot of reasonably priced rovers in OZ in legal import range. They will of course be right hand drive. I am not sure if Shipping is more expensive from Britain or from OZ...Oz imports come into the West Coast. I want to import one of these someday

It all depends on what you are looking for, 90 soft/hard, 110 soft/hard, recon engine, 200/300tdi upgrade, parts, respray, condition etc. You can get them from 1000 pounds (needing work) up to 8500 pounds for a refurb LHD 110 Tithonus.. Direct from Withams or purchased from a second dealer, who went and hand picked out one. You can go with companies in the US, you can look on Ebay, you can look at UK companies (like rugged guide), just do your homework and talk to others that have taken the plunge.

They have started to go up again. We are selling them in the states for about 14-17 for a nice ex mod 90 or 110. I guess all Defender prices are going up.

Wow - That is a great Looking 110. Has some potential. Makes me want to get an Ex MOD defender just to have fun on weekends with and to toy around with. My wife would kill me but I have 8 lives left - that means 8 more I could get.

Good job. I paid 10 for my 90 5 years ago and it has cost me 7 more to get it right.
