Default Series IIA, bottom door sill or not?

Hi folks. TOTAL Knewbie here. I am looking at two different IIA 109 5 doors. One has what I would call a door sill across the bottom from the front to rear wheel arch. About 2-3 inches of metal that runs under the front and middle doors. The other does not, the door bottoms have nothing beneath them in terms of trim.

What is the story? Did rover change that bit of trim? Or is one just missing a door sill?

    thanks for the time
    Eugene

They came with sills.. The sills were wider up to -1967 I think?, then they slimmed down. They're thin alum and easy to bash up, even in normal driving.
