Gunny-
what adapter are you looking for exactly?
I think you need to go directly to AA for those, I don't know of anyone with one yet. They are still really new.
What engine/tranny are you thinking abut using?

John Dorr saw a parts rover in VT with a 225 V6 and TH400 mated to a Series T case. Not a 4.3 but in an 88 the 225 v6 would be plenty powerful (to Dauntless" 225 V6 ": Displacement, 225 (3.68L). Compression Ratio, 9.0:1. Horsepower (net), 160@4200. Torque (net), 235@2400 )and that TH400 would be bulletproof.

http://www.jpmagazine.com/howto/154_...aps/index.html6. Buick 225 V-6What: A 90-degree odd-fire torque monster found in early '60s GM cars and '66-'71 CJ-5 and CJ-6 Jeeps.
Why: The 225 V-6 will idle down to 50 rpm, gets great mileage, delivers more than enough torque for an early Jeep, and is just plain fun to drive and listen to.
Put it in: It's a factory fit in any CJ-5 or CJ-6 and drops right into a flattie. FCs and other oddball Jeeps can benefit as well.

i hope you find the adapter. at one time i had a 109 5 door, straight six, running a 4 speed muncie, mated to the rover transfer box. the adapter was from advance adapters. that truck would fly. the gearing was too tall in first low for any real offroading, but scary fast at hwy speeds. not sure of the truth about this but i met an old timmer a while back and he was telling me that a tweeked straight six would out perform v8s.
