The Haynes manual says to fit the grubscrew to the small hole on the distributor drive gear bush as it faces the oil filter mounting face. The small hole has a channel running through it, but the grubscrew does not fit and extends beyond the face of the oil filter mounting face. However, the large hole fits the grubscrew but is at a different height relative to the engine block and seems to throws off the alignment of the master spline a bit according to Haynes manual. The small hole seems to be aligned better and the drive gear rests all the down in the block. Which hole is proper? Also, is it possible the distributor drive gear bush can shift position relative to the gear on camshaft?
