wow, that just looks too nice to drive !!! my dream is a 1969 109, diesel, overdrive, tropical roof, capstan winch, extra tanks, aluminum roof rack with ladder, canvas top, ............. add what i'm missing below !!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW, there was a series 1 here and it had "real" elephant skin seats. I doubt you can get the 'real' thing anymore but those things hardly needed a cushion under them!, even at 35+ years they were as durable as aluminum.
Jim,
You "doubt" that you can't get the 'real' thing any more...??? We've stocked THE FACTORY ORIGINAL 'Grey leathercloth' ("Elephant hide") NOT a knockoff. NOT the reproduction....for the last 40 years. And have been offering virtually-identical-to original door cards, seats, headliners, Hardura components, etc., etc., for all that time. Oh what the 'real world' doesn't know! FWIW, we don't sell the material outright because there is not much of it left but our upholsterer has won multiple prizes at Pebble Beach for his work.
