    Default Engine cutting out

I have a 96 disco that has a failing spedo sensor. the needle generally sits at 0mph but will jump up sometimes. when it jump the power will sometimes cuts out and then will come back on shortly after. I have been meaning to swap the sensor on the t-case to fix the speedo problem. whill this solve my power loss problem too?n I am new to the 4.0's engine management systems I have only delt with the 3.9s before. thanks
