94 Disco 1 3.9 Running rough

Please help, new to this forum and my Disco 1 recently started not starting as well, but when started it ides fine. As soon as step on the gas and put it in gear it has no power until I get above 3000 rpms and then it runs great. Plugs aren't fouling and wires are new. Oil and coolant look normal and I have no warning lights. Thanks in advance.

Vacuum Hoses

From what you describe... It sounds to me like a vacuum leak.

Confirm that all hoses are in good condition. Some forget to include the hoses for the cruise control.

An old mechanics trick:

1. Start vehicle.
2. Open hood.
3. Using the gas ONLY from a propane torch, run over all vacuum hoses.

If idle increases... you found the bad hose.

Otherwise, its something else... like the timing. Easily check with a "timing" light.

Thanks Joshua, I'll give the entire vacuum system a close look. Great tip on using propane to find the leak. If that doesn't work I'll pull out the timing light.
