Just as a side note, you can get about 350 HP out of that lump without too much trouble. 5 liter small blocks are capable of some pretty insane power. I think I saw a 700 hp mustang with twin vortech superchargers in one of those magazines.

Thanks for all of the comments and input. Is the front axle as weak as the rear? Also, my daughter hit something on the computer and now the most recent comment is at the top of the page instead of the bottom. I cannot figure out how to switch it back.

The front axle IS as weak as the rear however whenever it is engaged it shares its burden with the rear axle, when you are in 2wd though the rear axle bears the brunt of this alone. You are sending that power through axle shafts the size of Suzuki Samurai shafts if that helps you visualize it...


You can probably get away withthe stock front axle unless you install a locker or start hard-core 4 wheelin'.

Brown bar at the top, far left says "User CP", click on that and then when you're in the Control panel, you can click on "forum options" (or something similar) and you have a bunch of choices on display options. Default is to post the most recent at the end of the thread, I prefer the "newest on top" but it's personal preference.
