    109 Dump Truck?

I can't remember in all my Land Rover literature if they ever made a Land Rover dump bed truck. Does anyone remember?

I'm thinking of making my 109 pickup into a dump bed.
    61 II 109" Pickup (Restomod, 350 small block, TR4050)
66 IIA 88" Station Wagon (sold)
    66 IIA 109" Pickup (Restomod, 5MGE, R380)
67 IIA 109" NADA Wagon (sold)
    88, 2.5TD 110 RHD non-hicap pickup

-I used to know everything there was to know about Land Rovers; then I joined the RN Bulletin Board.

This is new for the 109 (part# ADB109) and there is a dump bed hydraulic kit also available for this. Stay tuned for more details.

      S3 Dropside 109

I wanted to buy this S3 a few years ago, but timing and 3k miles were not in my favor.

I still like it - would have made a great beer delivery truck!

        Thanks Thompson,

But I am thinking about retaining the original bed. I would want the truck to look stock. I know that the original bed is not strong enough by itself because it relies on the chassis for strength. I would have to build a separate subframe for the bed, but I think it's do-able. I wasn't sure if Land Rover ever offered it though?

I might be interested in the hydraulic kit though.

        Luckyjoe,

That is a neat looking truck.

Unless you have a high Capacity P-up there will be a lot of aluminum work as the front of the bed is integral with the back of the cab. Also, you will have to re-route fuel fillers (unless it is ex-mil). You are right about having to build a separate frame for the bed in order for it to take any sort of load. I would also think about putting angled deflectors at the back of the 'wheel wells' or you will have a lot of crap in your brake lights.

If you don't have one already, this project would be a whole heck of a lot easier with a High Capacity Pick-up.

Well aware of that Scott! And I think that S3 is only a dropside, not a dump, so beer threat averted.

I just can't get that 'picture it full of kegs' out of my mind... mmmm.

                SIII dropside

That looks like a cut-down Marshalls ambulance. Pretty resourceful.

                      Thanks Momo!

Who did that conversion? Where can I get one of those hydraulic cylinders?
