Hello, I have just bought a 1961 Series 2 (dream realized) which has been converted to negative earth. I am slowly going through fluid changes and fixing various key items (chassis is somewhere on that list)!
I am replacing the non stock and poorly functioning choke with one I bought from John Craddock UK. When I took the old non connected choke out, on the engine side I found 2 holes with the following items attached, which at some point both had a choke running through. The housing shown is in the manual, but I cannot find a description of its purpose? The other item appears electrical in nature and I cannot determine what it was.
Any help would be great - I think at least the bracket in the photo is original, the electrical fitting I am not sure. Photo attached.
My primary aim is install the new part and having a functioning choke. An additional aim would be to do it correctly using the parts remaining as they were intended (assuming that they are still needed).
Thanks.
