Thanks guys, but the number i gave is off the block not the chassis.

Trying to find out if its a 5 MB or 3 MB with out having to tear the oil pan off.

The difference between a 5 and a 3 brg is the engine casing.
If the engine block has smooth sides its a 3brg and if it has reinforcing Xs' on the side of the casing its a 5 brg.

There is a website, Glencoyne Engineering, http://www.glencoyne.co.uk/, that has some engine numbers listed. You will be able to determine the general specs of your engine there. The site also has some information for a 200 DI conversion for a Series truck rather than the TDI, pretty interesting.

                Nice,
Airportable is the same thing as light weight?

if so then its defidently not the orginal engine:
951xxxxxx Series III petrol 2286cc 3-bearing (fitted to 88 inch airportable)
