    Cold Start Switch

    I've searched the Green Bible and can't find out how to install a cold start switch or how to wire it. Hopefully someone can help me out.
    Thanks,
    Jim

    cold start

    Jim,
    for my 73 SIII the wiring is as follows;
    Starts with a White wire from the #7 fuse
    into the wiring harness to the light on the panel
    White/ Blue wire from there to the choke cable switch.
    White yellow wire from there to the temperature sensoe at the front of the engine near the thermostat.

        Cold start switch

        Where does the switch mount? My solex was replaced by a PO and he/she removed the choke switch. Thanks.

          choke switch

          There is a switch which mounts on the choke cable. There is an area on the cable just on the engine side of the bulkhead with a small hole (should be a metal sleeve on the cable here). The switch has a little post on it that goes in the hole (sounds kinky). When the choke cable in pulled out it activates the switch. When the engine warms up enough to activate the temperature sensor and the choke cable is pulled the light on the dash should come on. This tells you that the engine is warm and the choke is on.

            Thanks. It looks as if the PO may have also replaced the choke cable so will have to figure something out.

              My switch is right behind the dash panel.
              The access hole for the switch to poke thru is part of the knob assembly.
