An 88" frame is only $1700. Still a deal if you ask me. Have you priced steel lately? -
Its probably false economy if you think your time is worth anything. If you are on a budget and 80% is good just repair it.Comment

If just the rear 20% is bad.....

Even w/ a few hundred for shipping, it's more like $2k, not $3k....-L

If the back is just bad you could save some shipping buy going with British Pacific in SoCal.

Remember this is not shipping to anywhere in the US but to another country and Mackenzie more or less remote and in Northern BC. Closest US border is about 590 miles away.
I would see if you can fix the frame, get the rear frame portion that Leslie suggested and go from there.Comment

Yes, our rear chassis cross members are a great part for DIY restoration.

Build 88 Frame
I built an 88 frame in 1983 for my 1970. It took a long time but was worth it. The frame is still in good condition. If you can weld yourself it is a great challenge and fun but if you have to pay a welder then I suspect you would be better off to buy one.Comment

Can you share any pictures?
If you can't, can you spend a few minutes describing the fab process you used to make it? It sounds like an interesting pursuit."I can't believe I'm sitting here, completely surrounded by no beer!" -OnslowComment
