An 88" frame is only $1700. Still a deal if you ask me. Have you priced steel lately?

Hi: I live in Mackenzie BC and i just priced a frame yesterday. $2400 plus taxes and shipping about $3000. The bad part is the front 80% is good the rear 20% is really bad. Regards Dan

Its probably false economy if you think your time is worth anything. If you are on a budget and 80% is good just repair it.

Even w/ a few hundred for shipping, it's more like $2k, not $3k....

If the back is just bad you could save some shipping buy going with British Pacific in SoCal.

Add duties and taxes. Add the Tax to ship to Canada (always seems to be more, even if it is one mile over the border) add fuel tax in Canada (current price for Diesel in parts of BC is about $5.50 a gallon). I can see the price getting up there real fast.

Remember this is not shipping to anywhere in the US but to another country and Mackenzie more or less remote and in Northern BC. Closest US border is about 590 miles away.

I would see if you can fix the frame, get the rear frame portion that Leslie suggested and go from there.

                          Build 88 Frame

I built an 88 frame in 1983 for my 1970. It took a long time but was worth it. The frame is still in good condition. If you can weld yourself it is a great challenge and fun but if you have to pay a welder then I suspect you would be better off to buy one.

                            Can you share any pictures?

If you can't, can you spend a few minutes describing the fab process you used to make it? It sounds like an interesting pursuit.
