It had both on it when I bought it. Looking back through records kept by PO's, the spare tire in the rear is a D90 carrier.

Do I need two? You never know! Though it does make it a bit more of a pain to get in and out of the back.

Here's a a few pics from the rear

Thanks... I've always been interested in a swing-away, but was curious about how it might mount to the tail-gate. Would you have any pictures of the tailgate-to-swing mounting point?

            I'll take a couple tonight.

That said, it doesn't actually mount to the tail gate. The simple latch mechanism is actually on the lower contact pivot point. Essentially, there are four bolts that connect it to the truck. Two in the upper tub rail and two in the lower.

Nope. Was already painted when I got it. It's a decent paint job that looks better from about five feet away, but they painted over a lot of the sheet metal/rivet imperfections instead of removing them.

Thanks!... I guess I thought that swing-away mounts usually latched (and were supported) by a mount on the door, or in your case - tailgate, as well. No need for a picture - if there's nothing there!

                Cheers!

                          My Series III:

One of the last to be worked on by East Coast Rover before it focused solely on Defenders. They swapped out the frame and engine. Also brought various systems - suspension, brake lines, etc. back to par. Added the four point roll cage which can be seen under the hoop set. Photos of the missing tub floor is body renovation work that I am currently doing to replace corroded tub supports and floor. Lots of fun getting all the rivets out….

Looks like a nice project. What are you doing for a replacement floor?

Nothing special. New 3mm aluminum floor with new floor supports and top hats. Really wanted the corroded floor supports out as the electrostatic corrosion had eaten through the floor. I will though have a local auto paint shop prime and paint the floor in proper blue. I don't mind having faded bits alongside newly painted.
