1973 Series III. New frame and Turner engine. Full roll cage attached to the frame. Recently replaced the rear tub high hats and floor. Also the rotted out RH underseat tool box. Also new swinging tail gate (not drop down) was added when I removed the hard top. 67k miles. Need to fix a rear wheel hub seal. Also want to add an electric fuel pump.

Unusual side opening top tailgate. How does that work?

Just a couple of series two hinges hold it on.
                        internal rods hold it closed.
I have gold hold of the original Cat Flap hinges and stay rods to put it back to original opening.

Here are some photos: Rear right, rear right where it connects to the frame; front left where it connects to the frame and finally a halogen interior light built into the front of the roll cage so there is internal light when needed in soft top configuration. This was professionally built and installed. Hi lift jack attached to the front cross bar - very convenient.

Newly acquired series III. Drove to Nebraska and hauled it back to Texas with a friend. Has some mechanical issues, but nothing too major that I've noted. Doesn't seem to have too much rust, although it looks like someone has fixed some spots here and there. It does seem to be missing about 50% of the bolts required to hold the body together though! It was basically a farm truck.

I just replaced the wheels and tires, and took this pic.

Thanks for the clarity, so this does not rattle any more than stock style?
