    It is the same method I used to convert my lift gate to a side opening door. There is a metal strip at the bottom of the door that protects the bottom seal. If you taper that strip you do not need to open the door far enough to completely clear the tailgate to drop the tailgate.

                Dear fellow Land Rover owners;

                I am very glad to see all the pictures of your trucks and can only imagine of all the good times you had and will have with them.
                I recently purchased two Station Wagon trucks 1969 and 1970 LR S2a and have been restoring them little by little.
                I leave you with a photo of them (with my nephew helping me wash the trucks last weekend) and a video of an adventure I had with friends from US and Peru.

                I wish you great times with your LR's, friends and families.

                Cheers;
                Neil

                  I only had time to watch one video before going to work this morning. I chose video #2.

                  Absolutely amazing. What a beautiful country and what a great trip in the 109! Looking forward to watching the other videos.

                    Thanks for the kind words Mark;

                    Let me know if you are interested to travel to Peru and have a trip like this; my 109 is available and have plenty of room on the house to have you + any friends/family.
                    We are on vacations in Arequipa, Southern Peru, until end of 2016.

                    Updated the original post with missing videos of the trip.
                    Cheers;

                              New to the Land Rover world. 1965 Series IIa original left hand drive diesel version. Bought without engine and just scored a running 2.25 diesel to put into it. I have restored three British sports cars and working on one more but know little about diesel's so I will be reaching out for help here on the forum I am sure.

                                I am VERY interested in travel to Peru on a trip like the one in your video!. Unfortunately, my wife doesn't share the same sense of adventure, so this spring we are going to Italy for 3 weeks.

                                Be sure to take plenty of video if you take more trips in the 109!
