Ah yes, the weatherstripping. Well, I was lucky enough to get all the tailgate weatherstripping and the vent seals out of the UK, but that's not what you asked about.
The door seals will be made from the replacements as recommended in the parts CD. I forgot the part number, but you basically take civilian model seals and cut them to fit in place of the originals. Obviously, you still use the original brackets I have all the weatherstripping, so I just need to cut & fit them. I'll try to put that miserable job off for as long as I can.

^^ Don't know. I'll probably try to fire it up fairly soon.

The windshield is on, after being stripped & treated to 2 new pieces of glass. My Wheel Boxes for the wipers were toast, so they were replaced and new wiper arms & blades were installed:

Wow, every other lightweight should be disappointed in their owner for not paying such attention to detail.

We should be disappointed in the Land Rover company for not paying this much attention to detail when the thing was built, new. This thing is better than new.

              Looks great.

Bear in mind that the factory had to put more than one of these out every year and a half .

Jac, I hope you bring this rover around to area land rover gatherings--I'd love to see it in person. Teriffic job!

Looks great, totally stunning! Love the choice of tires. After you've got this all dialed in you should plan a voyage up Northern Vermont to Rovers North.

Since you guys are talking Solihull factory I thought I'd grace your thread with a few photos. All in hopes of turning into a 30+ page thread carry on.

[note: I agree, your work looks awesome - even over factory standards!]

Interesting pictures. Looks like early SIII 88 production. It looks like the entire front end is built up including the radiator and then dropped on as a single unit.

And the real reason for galvanized cappings? So the factory tools won't scratch the paint! (jk... )

The problem is that all my 'Rover time' is between 8pm and 1 am. Now I remember why I sold my '63 - I never drove it. I'm beginning to wonder what I'm going to do with this one when I'm done. We'll see.

move to some place like alaska or the shetland isles where it is daylight at 8 pm to 1 pm. OR improve the lights...

Yes, gentlemen do not motor about after dark...been following this from the beginning. I bought my 63 88 a year ago Saturday, should have it 99% complete on that day. You've been a huge motivation during its rehab...thanks for sharing

Actually I have used pics of your 63 as a reference many times. You do great work.
