If your leaking fuel you might want to bring the fire extinguisher back out.

Alright - I now have 2 brand new Dutch military fuel tanks. They are single wall construction, but VERY heavy duty. I'll probably need to wait until spring to give them a nice heavy coat of paint before installing them. Here is a new Dutch tank next to my leaking original:

I finally got around to restoring one of my original headlight assemblies. It turned out pretty good:

as this lightweight is nearing completion you must be looking for another project...

My dad (Jim Wollschlager) was wondering how about a LHD Stage 1 V8 109 SW as a partial trade? After my dad finished laughing he said it will keep you busy through your kids graduate schools
            Looking Great!

Yeah, sure....umm....I mean NO. I've instructed everyone around me to have some type of intervention if I start to look for another project, especially another Land Rover (or, as the guys I work with call it, "that rotten Land Rover".

Anyhow, both headlights are installed & aligned. The windshield washer system is in and the exhaust heat shield is installed. That about does it for under the hood. In the spring I'll paint & install the new fuel tanks, then it's off to be registered.

BTW, that's water on the garage floor from my snowblower - not oil (yet).

Now I know the answer to the question:

What does a brand new LW look like?

                Sell it.

                1. You'll likely get more than the parts you spent on it. (Of course you'll never get your 1000 hours back)
                2. It will hurt too much to drive it. Think of the rain on it!

                Just an amazing job.

I just may end up doing that. I'll most likely wait until next summer after all the details are finished and it has some miles on it to ensure everything is sorted.
In the mean time, let me know if you know anyone who might be interested.

I have a new ERC5348 military double groove crank pulley left over from this project. This is a New Old Stock part in original condition.
According to RN, these have been NLA for a while and are difficult to find even in used condition. It is my understanding that these are often desired for use with power steering conversions. Let me know if this pulley is of use to anyone.

I finally got around to re-painting and installing a really cool lockable storage box in the back of the Lightweight. It came with the vehicle and looks like someone made it themselves - and did a great job on it.
