I think the owner of those has posted on these boards before, the one with the gas tank off the side is mighty familiar, check the Jim ME topic about rear tank mounting...

I have no connection to these, someone forwarded to me and suggested I expand my fleet. I'm thinking not a good idea for me, but hopefully for someone.
The ad is asking 3 grand for 3 sii's.
Damn! I am in Jacksonville but my new garage/shop isn't ready, I don't really have the time and my wife would kill me!!

Is this placard found in above ebay listing factory? It appears to be next to the hood hold down latch. The "Diesel Series III" seemed interesting.

hicap 109 rhd seen on ebay

Saw this while purusing ebay...I have no connection with the seller. It looks like it could be a deal or it could be sketchy...salisbury rear axle, pickup cab, Hicap bed, etc make for the good. The brand new paint and could be hiding issues...but the seller rating is reasonable.

    hmmm,
sounds like a great investment for someone with time... compare this to the bid someone mentioned on an earlier thread - that guys gotta be wanting to retract his bid and save a few bucks... : http://auctions.orvis.com/Bidding.ta...n_uid1=1972090

Here's two rovers I've found over the last few months.

The S3 has been there for year and the lady says " My son is planning to rebuild it soon" every time I go to see her.

The S2A I found near where I was working one day. I stopped and asked about it and the guys said he just gave it to his nephew. He wanted out of his yard ASAP. I got in contacted with the nephew and he said he would let me know his plans for it. I went back a little while ago and it was gone...

On the surface, I agree with this sentiment, but then I thought about it a minute and realized that many of us could easily become blinded by our love of old vehicles to try and keep collections that we can't maintain.

I have a 109" in my back yard right now. Yeah, I'd rather have it indoors, but I just don't have the space. At the same time, I don't want to sell it, I want to restore it, but like everything else it must wait right now (and it is not a rare vehicle).

I have way more cars and bikes right now than I need practically, but there's just something about them, and I like walking out into the garage and just seeing them there.

On the flip side, I have enough respect for the value of a rare car that I could never let those Rovers sit outside, especially the Tickford and AP 109". I would build a roof over them if I had to make it from plywood. Also, the vandalism should not have been tolerated.

I have great hope that these vehicles will eventually go to good homes, and be brought back to their glory days. The sad thing is that preservation is much easier than restoration. I really want one of those Shorlands. Please keep us posted on these vehicles, I really would like to know what kind of prices these go for.

I think it was his intention to start some sort of museum, but something went very wrong for him

    His collection site:

I'd love a few of them, but haven't got any money, and it's about 1000 km from where I live
