Added Ike's alternator bracket. Awesome fab. RN you should carry!

Fixed my RHD 109's driver door latch. The galvanized junction box cover worked as a nice brace.

Added a new idle mixture screw and spring to my weber 34ICH. The truck ran great at 2.5 turns out. Unfortunately the 30 year old spring allowed the screw to gradually back out to 6 turns out!

And I fixed our leaky bathroom tub in which the drain pipe fell off.

      Happy Memorial Day!

Started to wirewheel my 88" chassis down to bare metal so I can use the 3 step POR15 frame paint. Most of the LR chassis is covered in surface rust and the original paint has been taking too long to wirewheel off. Decided to break out the paint stripper as it's making paint removal easier. At this speed I should have the chassis painted faster than expected.
Here is a picture of the center frame section degreased and ready for the POR15 zinc Metal Prep.

Finished removing the old paint off the chassis, degreased it, dried it and applied the zinc metal prep coating.

Painted the bonnet and the vent covers. Looking spiffy!!! The bonnet was pure Birmabright, as we're the vent covers, now they all look a beautiful Marine Blue. The AP Towers paint products are great

Installed Galvanized Bulkhead and Core Support

The freshly galvanized bulkhead and core support for my 1959 Series II 88 Pickup were installed last Friday. Neither piece required any rust repair! A new wiring harness on the way from England--but not 'til Wednesday at the earliest since the country is shut down for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee...

Finished last coat of POR15 on my 88" chassis. Came out looking like its been powder coated. Will be spraying a few cans of the mist Waxoly inside the chassis that our host sells.

Yeah, I hear ya... I'd say paint it anyway, live with it for a while and see what you think. The visibility is nice as is opening the hood without 60 extra pounds on it. if you're not sold, then sell 'er!!

I agree. Why not yank the one off your old hood and paste it on your new one?

What was wrong with the old one? Keep both, you can swap them out easy enough. I do like the tire though.. but it is refreshing to see one without it... I'm torn, honestly, but don't listen to me I told you not to paint it, but now I like the blue..
