Machined up a set of the lower brackets to mount the seat belt coils, and mounted them properly so now the belts will do something. Next up is install some interior lighting and drop the gas tank and install the 2" receiver assembly.

I did not know that RN sold those. Does it feel lilke it works? I would love to get one if it helps warm the thing up a little.

        Thanks,
        Gary

I have a muff on my IIA, and it does help the engine come up to tempurture faster. The key is in watching your temp gauge though, to ensure you have the flap open enough that it doesn't run too hot after it comes up to tempurature.

I replaced the plug wires and put on a new condenser and the truck purred back to life! What does a condenser do anyways?

When the points open, the magnetic field in the primary of the coil collapses, and thru the secondary winding, causes the spark. Breaking the magnetic field would cause a huge arc at the points, the condensor absorbs the enrgy, protecting the points from arcing. When the points close again, the energy stored in the condensor discharges, ready for the next opening. Some people mistakenly think the coil fires when the points close, but no, it fires when they open.

You made that way to easy to understand. I figured it would need it's own thread to get out correctly.

finished installing the driver seat belt gusset bracket and lap belt.

has anyone else installed the RN proline belt?

the seat belt harness bolt that was included is much too long. so long in fact that when the bolt threads through the bracket and reaches the seat box, the head of the bolt prevents the door from closing. i had to re-fabricate the bolt to make it work.

I may be wrong, but it would seem to me thet the spacer should go between the belt and the bracket.
