The weather was just horrid here lately. Big storms and inches of rain. It has let up it seems though.
I got a bit more done. I got the rest of the outriggers formed up. Sometimes I have pressbrake access and sometimes not. A friend of mine did these in his shop after I gave him the drawings. I cannot complain. I have not had to give any money but he assures me I will pay dearly for them..... the usual arrangement. The tabs on the leftmost part are stops I put in for the pressbrake. When I got them for free, I do not want the job to be harder than it needs to be.

I finished the gearbox crossmember.

And the spot welds, well plug welds.

There was a small bit missing from one of the brackets that supports the radiator panel. so I put in a patch.

Here you can see the final fit-up arrangement for the chassis leg joint. I cannot imagine doing this without backing plates and plug welds. As you can see here, I have backing material with plug welds on 3 of the 4 sides of the joint. The bottom is new material for the first 30 inches back and also has a backing plate where it ends.

Well, I am committed now. There is no going back. (Yes, I went back and fixed the plug weld where I missed a bit.)

Setting up for the spring hangers.

Here you can see the final position of the jig. It worked great.

When I measured it all as I took off the jig. The legs pulled together about 1/32" (0.75 mm) They pulled downward about the same. The pulling was even and the same on both sides. I am not even going to bother jacking the legs apart. I am very happy so far.
I still need to get some of the outriggers sorted. Tomorrow beckons.
