Get the paint codes and go shopping. Painting a rover isn't any different than painting anything else as long as you don't strip it down to the bare birmabright... just sand and paint like anything else.

You will need:
paint stripper
an expoxy primer/etch primer
a 2k high build primer
and the paint you choose either single stage or base/ clear
I like Dupont paints for Rovers as I have found there color match to the original is really good. I also like their Variprime, epoxy primer, product. It sticks really well to aluminum
go easy with any sanding (try to paint strip as much as you can)and dont use sand paper that is coarser(a word?) than 180 grit. Aluminum is soft and distorts easily. Also be mindful if you are fixing dents with filler as aluminum and filler dont work well together in large quantities.

To add to Bertha's post:

If you use the body filler, you can scuff up the aluminum with coarse sand paper (I don't recommend this option) to get it to stick. Or, you can epoxy prime, and then add filler (I do recomend this option) over the primer. Make sure to read the directions on the can of epoxy primer you buy. If you let an epoxy primer harden long enough, you have to sand before coating it.

I have been involved in a rustoleum spray jobs in the past. Ace hardware will actually custom tint the stuff. If came out okay. A major downside is that it took FOREVER to dry. A 2k will harden quick, and last longer as well. Just depends what you want.

painting the car with a roller seems like it would be more trouble than anything else. You'd be better off just using a bunch of buzz bombs of krylon from lowes/homedepot/menards/ace/whoever.

There was a good website dedicated to roller painting and some of the projects they did were amazing. But it still takes a lot of time and effort to make it look good. The roller painting will be cheap in out of pocket expense but expensive in personal labor.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. In terms of getting paint onto the truck, it could be done with a roller. But with all the angles and seams and such, it would be bear to get it looking right. I don't even want to get into the coating/sanding/coating/sanding you'd have to do.
