Recommendations for 15" rims on a series 2a 88 with stock suspension. I think 235/85/15 may be a little to big for what I am looking for. Any suggestions? Want to keep it fairly stock/skinny.
I actually found a set, i am pretty sure, if i remember correctly. They are BFG ATs. They come in a multitude of sizes. But not sure if I want to go 32, 31, or 30 size. Any thoughts?
What are you doing with the truck? Mix of whatever? Mainly off roading? What part of the country are you in?
If you are purely street pounding, then Dunlop Radial Rover A/Ts are pretty good. Good ride and cheap.
If you are mixing but don't want aggressive tires, the BFG A/T is really hard to beat. Good street manners, lasts a long time and a little aggressive in the woods.
since you want to stick to a smaller size, I take it there is no reason to talk about any off road tire.
235/75/15 is a good size. I think you'll be happy with them.
Sounds good.I live in RI, so normal new england driving. Mostly road driving, maybe light dirt roads. What is the diameter of 235/75/15? Sounds like those are my best fit. Thanks for the help. Also, anyone going to all metal dash, I saw a post on here somewhere.
Dunno about the BFG A/T (someone else can chime in) but the Dunlop A/T works fairly well in foul weather...well, the foul weather that the south gets. They performed fairly well on the ice.
235/75/15 is roughly 29" tall and about 9" wide. It is highly similar in side to the 235/70/16 on Disco 1s.
FYI, the 235/75/15 is a common size for 2WD half ton pickup trucks so you should be able to find them.
Lastly, make sure you get LT rated tires, not P rated!!! They are a little tougher which is probably a good thing.
