I was going to mount my plate on the front right side of the bumper with the bottom of the plate even with the bottom of the bumper. Then add a light weight angle to the height of the top of the plate. Top screws would be in this angle. I would not mount plate lower than bottom of bumper, as someone said it will get bent back.

Here's a picture of the original plate holder in action.

Way overbuilt, but I suppose that's a good thing, as it is unlikely to bend if you hit anything.

IIWY I'd probably go for the wing mount.

Wow, I think it is. It was this color when I bought it and I always assumed it was an approximation to the orignal Pastel Green. The exterior paint is a bit darker than the orignal interior color.

I used nuts and short bolts with washers on the back. Pulled the grille off, attached the plate and remounted. I have centered it on the grille since this picture.

I'd worry that cut off too much radiator airflow, but my truck runs hot in the summer

i can't bring myself to mount anything on the front wing panel except the OG UK plate.

it was enough of a hassle mounting the rear plate to the rear cross member w/o drilling new holes or using adhesive...

i keep the front plate in the truck with the registration and insurance papers with a couple of zip-ties. if/when i get hassled for no front plate i'll just zip-tie it on the grill and hope that gets me by. southern CA cops are pretty relaxed about no front plate, and only cite you for it if A) they're writing you a ticket for something else, or B) are using no font plate as an excuse to pull you over based on profiling.

but they will rarely ever pull you over just to write you a "fix it" ticket for no front plate.

One could install bumper overriders and put itbetween the bumpers. My land Rover came with a pretty thick black angled plate to mount atop the bumper, i'll try to get a pic on here.............. I think the twin plates shown above win though!!........ looks pretty tuff!!
ok never mind, I'll have to learn to submit photos.......... pity, I have so many neat ones.

My '65 109 had but one hole on the right front fender.

So I drilled a hole through the plate and mounted it with one bolt.

This was in Hawaii with temps up in the 90s and water temp sat around 170-180.
