I have one. came on another rover i have. Put it on my 109 and was louder as said before, i liked it. It also gave me a little extra pep on the sand which was nice. I think it looks pretty neat too.

Put one up to the light and you can see why they breath better. Speed holes [Homer Simpson]. I would not want that to filter my air. That's just me. Do what you want.

            filter

Keep them oiled, which is not a big deal at all and they breath well and work great. Go for it.

Yank - what carb are you running? I ask because it may not fit your carb if its not a weber 34ich. If its not, measure the diameter of the top hole, go to the K&N site, find one that works, write down the part number and take it to your favorite big box auto store and they can order it for you.

Me too. I held one up to the lights in my garage once. When it came down it went directly into the trash. Oiled or not, holes are holes. K&N claims their filter works better the dirtier it gets - probably because the dirt/dust plugs up the big holes.

                  To the OP:
You may want to consider other options such as the AEM Brute Force Dryflow filter. http://www.aemintakes.com/dryflow_air_filters.htm
I used one in place of my oil bath, but I went a slightly different route:

Yes, it is the original rubber hose.

No need to worry about oiling a K&N on a Rover. There's usually enough oil vapor under the hood to do it automatically!
