Corner of hood hits fender

I think I'm missing something obvious here...
Put the bonnet back on the rover today and noticed that the right hand rear corner is gouging the top of the wing upon open and close... This wasn't happening prior to removal and i don't see an obvious adjustments in the hinges...

could the hinge have been bent somehow while it was off causing it to sit lower? just a thought.

Check the bracket on the bulkhead that the wing mounts to. There is some adjustment available if you loosen the bolts to the bulkhead.

Make sure the bushing is in the hinge and it's in the right way.

did you have the wing off? It also has a little adjustment up / down

nope, wing stayed put..
I have a feeling it might be a bushing issue..
im not sure these guys understood the fine art of land rover body assembly...

Just to clarify...It's this bushing that sits in the SIII hinge portion that is welded to the bulkhead. They are notorious for breaking while driving on washboard roads. They should be installed so that when the gap is pointing straight up, it is closest to the bulkhead so you can get the bonnet on and off easily.

[EDIT] I'd also recommend that you ensure the 2 rubber bumpers that go between the bulkead and the rear edge of the bonnet are present and functioning as these bumpers prevent (or minimize) the amount of longitudinal rattling the bonnet does, reducing the chances of busting one of the plastic hinge bushings.

If you saw the top of my right wing, you'd understand why I'm so familiar with this very topic...
