Well I have started building a set.

The thing I feel with RN set for me is there plain and costly for what they are. I want something different than everyone else. I am sure there good and strong for the RN sliders. I just want something a little different.

Do you have pics of what you did to them?

I haven't got the sliders on yet, they are waiting to be galvanized. He is also finishing up a front bumper for my Warn 8274, and a surprise goodie that I can't tell you about yet. Cost wise, you are best off to talk with Carey directly. He is on the board here somewhere, but I would just call or e-mail him off the website I listed. Prices will vary if you are looking for specific custom features. They are built to order, so anything you can imagine is possible. Ike's sliders were awesome, but since he is no longer building them, Carey hopes to fill the void while not reinventing the wheel.

My rock sliders were made out of 2x4 box steel and 2x2 box steel. the 2x4 is the actual rock slider while 2 pieces of 2x2 were used to attach it to the frame.

Super simple, looks pretty good, cheap.

                Sliders

I recently built a pair of sliders for my 88. I didn't cut the slider to accomodate the bulkhead outrigger as I wanted them to sit out for side protection.

Here's a photo of the ones I made for my 88". I used 1" x 4" U-channel 1/4" thick. I wanted mine flush with the body so that they looked factory. However, they would easily support the full weight of the vehicle and could be spaced out with washers if you wanted them to stick out from the body.

The 2nd photo shows the welded on brackets that allowed them to be bolted and unbolted.
