    Just arrived...95 RRC

    Hey Guys!

Just thought I'd share my recent somewhat spontaneous purchase. I brought home a 1995 Range Rover Classic SWB that I bought for $700.

    The good:
    Runs and drives well
    Bull bar
    Warn M8000 winch
    Front Skid Plate
    Front diff guard
    Clean Interior
    Roof rack

    The bad:
    The Air Suspension is toast
    Rust on the rear liftgate
    Too shiney chrome wheels (bling!)
A few lights on in the dash (SRS light, gas guage sitting at empty, Check Engine Light, and EAS light)
    running boards

First thing will be getting a coil conversion kit to replace the bad air suspension. Next will be tackling the various dash light issues. Anybody have an extra owners manual they would be willing to part with?

I am quite familiar with the Discovery I. What are the big differences with the Disco and 95 Range Rover Classic?

Here is a link to some pictures in its current state...

Wow ! $700 ! I'm jealous. I'm the proud owner of a '95 LWB. I have a bunch of reading material for you if you'd like. Send ma a quick email and we'll figure out how to do this.

I figured out the red Service Engine light. Just poke a hole thru the sticker in the Emissions Control Module like I have done before on the Discovery. Light is out now.

Any leads on why the Gas Guage is not working and the empty light is on? Where should I start looking? Would this be an issue in the tank itself or someplace else? I opened the access panel to the top of the gas tank in the floor board in the rear cargo area, but only disconnected and reconnected the electrical connection here. Should I dig deeper into the tank?

        Thanks!

          What a deal!
You can part out the bolt-on bits for more than $700!
          Score.

Funny, I looked at the pix before I saw where you're located and thought "gosh, that looks like Colorado Springs..."

Just drove my '95 LWB from NYC to COS at Christmas. 251k miles on the clock as she sits in NYC today. I put a new 4.6L short block engine in at 239k when the numbers-matching engine wouldn't hold pressure any more, and a new transmission at 246k. And I paid nearly 10x what you paid for your truck when I bought it last year (says a lot about me, also says you got a GREAT DEAL).

            I also have a '95 Disco I (original owner).

(trying to attach pix of my truck from the trip--not sure if it will work)

            Enjoy!!!

I didn't think my photos would really say Colorado Springs other than there are a few remnants of snow on the ground and the gorgeous blue and sunny skies! But for all you guys thinking about moving to Colorado....just keep thinking that it is cold and snowy all the time!
