109 NADA Registry

If your 109 is a 1967, then that speedo pictured in your post is the correct speedo and was introduced in 67 I believe. The number 1408 (on the lower right face) was specific to long wheelbase models as they shipped with 16 inch tires and needed different internal gearing so the speedo was accurate and the odometer ticked over correctly at each mile.

Trip was not a common feature until the series 3 trucks but was an option on earlier 2A models. The reset button protruded through the bottom of the metal dash in the 2a application.

My truck is a 67. The part number on the face of my speedo is correct per NADA parts manual. The issue is if you look at the build sheet for my truck you will see the truck was ordered with a trip.

That's harder to solve for. The prior owner(s) are really all you have left to rely on for that info. Its possible it was ordered with the trip function but was not delivered with it for any number of reasons. Or, at some point the speedo with the trip function broke and was replaced with the one you have now.

I'm not trying to figure out what happened to it. I just want the part number for the correct one with the trip. The NADA one without the trip is a specific part number so I assume the trip one is too.

Hi Guys;
I am the original owner of 717 (Clarence). 717 was completed 12 January 1968 and I took delivery 3/21/68 in Maryland. The speedometer is part number 559159. It does not have a trip function. If anyone is interested I had Warn Disconnectors installed on the front wheels and a 4 ton Koenig Winch powered off of the Transmission. It had a Factory Cargo Rack on the top. At auction I won the "Order Desk" Catalogues from what was apparently a large, longtime dealer.) I'll dig them out, after I finish uploading the NADA Parts Catalogue and see if there are any "Trips" listed.

34300411A is located in San Antonio, TX. I purchased it in 2015 from a friend who bought it in the late 1970's. I have the original engine but the transmission and transfer case are gone. Completed Nov 21,1966 in light green, it was imported through the port of Houston, TX. It's currently being upgraded with the installation of Stage 1 axles, a 1994 3.9 liter V-8, a ZF 4HP422 transmission and a 2004 LT230 transfer case.

So looking at the Registry list is shows Kellogg as having #110. That must be an error, as the one I have is still wearing the original paint and hasn't run in decades.
