I never got a reply for the interested parts. On the guy with the long lost Rover, after closer examination of his photos I don't think the truck was his. I didn't want to lead him on a wild goose chase, nor entertain any offers if it really was his. -

Rad Panel
Thanks Jeff. Can you send me an email with your pricing for the rad panel? You can contact me at derrekostr@hotmail.com. That link to the thread that you sent me is interesting as there is a possibility that I have that guys rover. I bought mine off a guy in Orange County who purchased the truck locally, and painted the truck bronze green from the original lime green. I have the original hardtop and roof rack in the pictures. It would also explain the missing rad panel and original grill. I'll shoot him an email to see if he still has his VIN#.

You also have a late 2a/3 rad support panel, not a bugeye one. My bugeye read panel has been repaired, but is up for grabs. Mike at ECR had a spare grill. http://www.d-90.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17685 or you could try making one from a series 3 lightweight grill.Originally posted by DerrekDoes anyone know if there are any original bugeye grills out there? I had to take a grill from a 1970 Series, because my original grill (with the flat bottom) had holes cut into. Do you think it would be possible to weld new mesh to the original grill?

Tonneau Cover
Here is the link to purchase canvas tonneau covers for your Land Rover. They're based out of England and cost me around $175 for the cover including s/h. http://www.allwheeltrim.co.uk/series-2&3.html

Very nice.
Is the canvas sitting in the back or did you have a 'load bed' tonneau cover made?
I am in San Diego with frequent trips to LA for work.

Image Re-size
I just corrected the image size and uploaded larger images. I can post more if your interested. I live in Irvine and work in Newport Beach. I've only seen one other Land Rover Series in the area. A red 109 in Laguna Beach.Leave a comment:

Any chance at bigger pics? Where in SoCal are you?Originally posted by DerrekI have a 1969 Land Rover Series IIA - Bugeye VIN # 24436228F. IMHO I would overhaul the mechanics and leave the body for now if everything is pretty straight and there are no rust issues. This way you get to use the truck a bit quicker than with a full restoration and there is something cool about a nice original truck with faded paint.Originally posted by 69BugeyeI live in Las Vegas and recently aquired a 1969 Series IIa Bugeye. (My first vintage Land Rover. I currently drive a 2008 LR3)
It is #24435411F.
Will be doing some research and then deciding what to do with the truck. Not sure if I want to just overhaul the mechanicals and leave the body alone or go for a full resto.
