Welcome to the Series I club!
Sweet, never seen a sand/tan version SI. Fun history too!
I've been rover-hauling my '58 for a couple years. Its taken a long time due to parts sacristy, and then cost when I do find'm....
FWIW....many SI aficionados I know down south have given up on the 2.0L, swallowed their pride, and just gone with the 2.25L. Parts are much more available and half the cost of a 2.0L. I just spent near $2K for all new rotating wear parts, gaskets/seals, and oil pump for my 2.0L. Gear box is 2015 project....

Here is a view from the back. The instrument cluster has more gauges that other 57's I seen and there are several switches and lights to the left of the steering column that I don't have a clue what they are for. Maybe auxiliaries that are no longer attached?
I forgot to mention in the earlier post that it has a little over 22,000 km(?) on the odometer.

Hello everyone,
Here is my latest multi-year project. It is a 1957 88", left hand drive. It looks like it may have started life in the middle east somewhere. Notice the Arabic on the front license and the tires are Generals, "Fabrique en Moroc" and have Arabic on them also. I have an old title that looks like it was bought by a US military guy who probably brought it to the states. It may have been originally painted green but was later painted the khaki color. The old license plate expired in 1979 so it probably last ran when Reagan was president.
It looks like it is mostly complete but there are a couple of items I have questions about that I will post in a more specific thread pertaining to what is original or replacement.
Which threads are your "dumb question" threads

Haven't done much posting here, but have been working on my rover for the past few months (found sitting outside for a few years, not running, panels torn off, wiring was a mess, 3/4 still in boxes. PO had bought a bunch of new parts though which was the good side, in hopes of restoring it one day) and just recently got it on the road. Still have a long ways to go but figured I would share some current pictures. After new carb, wiring harness, voltage reg, tires etc etc etc you get the idea shes on the road but still have a whole lot to do.Leave a comment:
