Here's my two land rovers. 1967 109, currently missing the engine and a few other parts. In it's previous life it was owned by Ron Pederson, the owner of an Alpha/Rover shop in Nederland, CO, and this land rover was named Grokolina, and has "reunite gondwanaland" stickers on it. He had taken out the worn out 6 cylinder in prep for doing a V8 swap (and cut out the front crossmember too, not sure why). He never did the swap. I currently have an OM617/SM465/Dana18 setup to put in it, but also haven't gotten that done yet. Ended up moving to WA to help the folks out on the farm as they age, and haven't gotten the land rover transported up here yet. Being a Colorado truck, it has no rust. And no, the wings and grille aren't busted up, just they were all removed for the engine work, and they're only held on by like one or two bolts in that picture.
Second one is a 1961 88. 2.25 gasoline/petrol. Bought by my dad in 1975, from the first owner, the sheriff of Moab Utah who had bought it new. It's all original, about 36k on it, and still runs, but needs a restoration. No brakes, not much electrical (starter motor and generator still work), and clutch sometimes doesn't work, and the tires are the ones my dad put on in 1975... little cracked now. But it'll start right up ever time, and drive around slowly (because of the no brakes and cracked tires). It was the car I learned to drive on (after learning how to do all the routine maintenance on it), and I want to restore it to full daily driver condition for short trips to town and such.Comment
