never checked to see if they were powered. Picked up the truck and dove right into the tear down. Pretty sure they have power (in theory) because they sure as hell don't reflect When its back together it won't be so much Lucas anymore.

Geez, just trying to make a joke about Lucus...guess i need to use this when I do. To fully answer your question, Those are the turn signals and are also activated when the 4-way flashers come on. Of course with Lucus electrics there is a chance that won't happen

We've all read them...but to go along with the joke (we don't have to insert anymore)...here is my favorite one.

Back in the 70's, Lucas decided to diversify its product line and began manufacturing vacuum cleaners. It was the only product they offered which did not suck.

ANSWER: "Lucus electrics....what do YOU think?"
That's funny! As bmohan suggests, anyone who has been around Rovers for a while knows the answer is often "neither."

                    Rover color help

I saw this pic online of this pair of Lightweights (not mine), I love both colors... and I am trying to pick a new color for a lightweight. Currently Jac04's is my favorite, but am wondering if anyone can tell what these two official colors may be by any chance ??

                    thanks

Thanks Clive, I'll need to dive deeper on that ref page, as first blush its not obvious what the spec on the light tan/cream vehicle may be in the pic shown here... assuming it is even one of the original colors itself.

                        appreciated, mike

                          74 Series III

I have sold my 73 SIII that I restored. I did such a good job that I did not want to drive it in the snow / salt / rain ect yet loved to drive it. I decided to buy another, 1974 SIII, and this one is now may daily driver. I really like driving it every day. I'm also real close to buying another one, I'll post pics if, hopefully when, I get it. As my friend says I have an obsession, can't argue you get addicted to these "THINGS" as my wife calls them.
I have replaced a rotted rear door w/ a tailgate / liftgate (thanks Ike)
and have some RM door tops to install after I replace the windscreen which I have. It has a galv frame, 8:1 head, Weber DGV carb, electronic ignition, mechanically very tidy, runs great.

Thought this was interesting off a military history site, this pic was entitled "misc vet. pic01 Air delivery of a Series 2 CR with a bad 'chute..."

                            ... aptly titled....

                              69 conversion to date

Here is a little history of the old girl so far... I got the orig pic of the 1stage conversion from the orig Cream color from a previous owner, and added that in as well.
