First trip in the rover this past weekend. No problems to report, ran perfectly up to Pond Eddy NY. Averaged around 63-65 MPH to my surprise.

Two questions does your rig have an overdrive and exactly how many beers can you fit in that cooler?

Hahaha...I can easily fit over 200 beers in that bad boy. Best part is that it keeps ice for over 5 days.

No overdrive......yet. It's something that I want to add one day. But to be honest I'm happy with it the way it is and I'm in no rush.

              "new " Rover

Just got my first Series Land Rover. It is a 1960 Series 11 station wagon. I bought it close by in Prince George, Va.

The previous owner had it for 20 years but never drove it. He had the engine rebuilt in 1998 and had a huge stash of genuine parts. The previous owner was a beloved veterinarian and workaholic who died too young two years ago at 57 years old. I bought it from his son. The rover had been sitting in a huge dry garage for the twenty years he had it. The tires are decomposed and appear to be from the '70's. The body is very presentable with a few dents and dings and some bad looking paint. The frame is solid except for some rust in the rear cross member. The front horns, outriggers, etc. are solid. The bulkhead is mostly solid with great door posts but some footwell rust. The engine has an alternator on it so I confused on the status of the electrical setup. I am super anxious to get it home and get to work on it. The shocks and springs look really worn and sagging so that will need to be addressed. The rear jumpseats can't be found so that is a shame.

I have a 1989 and 1990 Range Rover classics as well.

Look forward to meeting some Series folks.

Sweet truck and a sweet find.

Too bad the owner never had the pleasure of driving it...

The key to happiness? A garage full of Land Rovers! Take after getting both Rovers ready for the upcoming British Invasion in Stowe VT in a couple weeks.

Well I've been bumpin' gums on this forum for a little bit. Guess I should show the 109. Basically, I just drive the crap outta this truck. Body and underside is all beat up.

'74 88 - my daily driver and once a year, week long off road trips in the Oregon wilderness areas. This pic taken just before July 4 Pacific Coast Rover Club trip to the Kalmiopsis Wilderness in Oregon. The side mounted spare is an early solution to not carrying a 33" tire on the bonnet or on the tailgate.
