      What are the Hoops Dimensions??

Recently the Motor Pool where I worked threw away some aluminum tubing that fits into the hoop holes. So I am making some nice new hoops for my 109 and need to know the dimensions. I/E how tall above the body do the sides rise. How tall the arch is above the sides. Everything else I can figurte out from the pictures. But I don't want to make it to short or to tall. Can anyone help. I couldn't find it on line.

Place some broom handles in the rolled up sides. It will give it a cleaner look with no sag. It will give you less rattling when driving too.

Good tip. PVC pipe works nicely as well.

I've been using 1/2 inch wooden dowels for years on the sides and rear flap. Slip right in the bottom edges where the ropes pass through. Makes things much nicer when everything is rolled up. Get them at Home Depot.

so you just leave them in the canvas?

i bet it makes rolling them up a little easier too...

                        Nice tutorial from Exmoor

Another from Rugged Guide that shows clearly some of the bits that are not so easy to see in the first.

Did anybody have to expand the holes for the drip channel to bolt in behind the windshield? I just got the last drain channel I needed and the holes don't line up at all... I don't think drilling it out would harm anything, but I was just wondering what other peoples experiences were.

Do you have the triangular piece. It bolts to the windshield and the side channel bolts to it. That is if I am picturing what you are describing correctly.

This is what I am talking about, except my bolt holes don't line up...

Try tightening up your windshield clamps a little. Too much and the door top will hit the windshield so I'd do it with the door closed. The other thing is that they are handed. Is there any chance you got them mixed up?
