With the combination of pickup top and new heater core I get to hot within 15 minutes of starting it from cold. This is of course nothing to complain about!!

Somehow, that just seems wrong. Next thing you will find a way to make it quiet..... or gasp!! . . .dry.

          Drove it !!!

Our area is still reeling from the snow-related power outages. I had to deliver a generator, fuel and water. All-in-all, a beautiful day in a topless 109 2-door!

With a good insulated hat, and a scarf or hood to keep the cold air off the back of your neck, the Kodiak puts out more than enough heat to keep the driver warm. I'm putting the roof off as long as I can...

              Ordered a ton of Parts

I am moving ahead with my restore.

I ordered all new front seats and the elephant hide material to redo my middle nbench seat. Also ordered all new rear bench seat cushions.

Last thing I ordered was a fairey overdrive from the UK.

Soon I will seal and paint my frame as I want to protect it for many years to come. Its unbelievably solid for a 1967.

Then I will strip, etch prime and paint the pastel green exterior. When I am done, It will be one sweet ride.

Yes I will start a build thread with pics. Going to be using a 300 Tdi defender manifold the 200 Tdi is out of a disco so there is some fab work to be done as well. Getting excited to get the motor here and started on the swap.

I installed a new rear wiper motor on my II 88. I've always had some kind of wiper on the rear door. Once I had a glass shop drill right through the rear glass and I mounted a single motor right through the glass, but predictably that cracked the glass before too long. I think I left it there for a year or more though. Today I replaced the old motor which is mounted through the upper door rail above the window. I had to fiddle with the arm to get it sweeping the right part of the window and all, but it works fairly quietly. I just did an online search for universal wiper motor; I think the maker is Omix.

I have a question though: has anyone had any luck with rear window defrosters? I have one of those Frost Fighter kits on there now, but of course it doesn't work very well- only a couple of the strips seem to get current and they tend to burn through. Rather than spend another $50 an another kit, does anyone have a good electric heater/fan rig or some such? I'm not inclined to put the Defender heated glass in because I just replaced this door and glass and it already has cost more than I anticipated.

                  Thanks to all-
                  Tom

I like it because I understand how it works (mostly).

Hammock + sammich + IBC Root Beer + 109 + Forest = a REALLY REALLY good lunch hour.

                        However I did this yesterday....

So it was a welcomed break from "limp home mode".

One says "to your Rover" and the other says "with your Landy"...completely different.

I see, kind of like the difference between taking one for the team and taking one from the team.
