I did nothing absolutly nothing but miss it, been over 9 months at the shop getting the 200 TDI installed. I just got the new disco rad and inter-cooler will be dropping it off at the mechanic after christmas so hopefully before my 50th birthday I will have it back on the road.
What did you do to your Rover today?

within the last 24 hours I've been wrenching on rovers for 15 of them, only stopping to eat, sleep, and see my sick grandma. Yesterday Aaron and I working on mounting up his 2.5 diesel. Later, my sister went out of town for the holiday, so I took the opportunity to stuff my rover into her heated garage, it wouldn't fit until I deflated the tires and took the roof off though. In that time I did a full tune up/inspection of the ignition system, replaced spark plugs, re-torqued head, adjusted valve, cleaned air filter etc. Having a heated garage, friends, and alcohol in the same place was unreal, I never wanted to leave! I finally installed my locking differential thats been sitting in my garage for the last 2 and a half years. I finished with enough time to take it to the Jiffy Screw for a coolant flush today, of course I didn't put the roof back on until after my trip there
happy rovering,

Christmas
Woke up this morning for Christmas, wife bought me a galvanized chassis! Gotta love her! I knew she secretly loved "boy blue"!

Replacing Master Brake Cylinder on Series '71 Series IIa. Trying to figure out exactly what that gasket material is they use to between the pedestal and bulkhead. Looks like some kind of neoprene. Probably just going to go with the Fel-Pro Rubber Fiber Sheet I have on hand.1971 Series IIa 109 Ex-MoD

Yes, the original gaskets appeared to be fairly thin and really soft, like a neoprene foam. The latest Genuine gaskets are made from a very hard material and are quite thick. I didn't end up using them because they had no 'give' to them and they weren't going to form a good seal. Instead I used 3M body caulking to seal them. I would recommend using something similar.Comment

I was thinking it was there to keep water from running down into the cab and maybe seal out any engine compartment fumes? Strange design though in that it has a "U-Shape" profile that could actually trap water in the pedestal area. I guess they rely on the lip and channel that hangs over it to block the water from running constantly down in there. When I bought the car it was filled with acorns from a squirrel who was using it as a storage bin!1971 Series IIa 109 Ex-MoD

My right front brake was grabbing and pulling hard to the right in ice and snow.
Haven't worked on drum brakes in a very long time but it ended up being lots of brake dust
in the left front brake drum. Now its happy braking in ice and snow.
Here are a few pics of the old girl at work with my M100 trailer.
My son and I split hauled a little wood to the cabin
on Christmas eve.

Switched Brake Master cylinders on my '66 88 so that I can send the bum one back to Rovers North.
Kudos to Les and RN for great customer service and help with ways to diagnose and make sure it was the master cylinder and not something else!1958 107 SW - Sold to a better home
1965 109 SW - nearly running well
1966 88 SW - running but needing attention
