When you cross the US/Canada border and the guard says "now that is a classic late 60's right?" I reply 68 and then we have a 5 minute discusion on Old Rovers and Land Crusiers, then a "have a nice day" was one of the easiest border crossings in years.

I think it would depend on which direction you're going. I can imagine that question going north, but it seems like the only question I get going south is "where is your front license plate?" (they don't seem to know that antique plates in Washington are only on the rear, I've started carrying a printout of the statute)

Can you point me to that statute? I might need it.

When you jump in the 2004 Discovery only to find the wife left the radio on so the battery is dead. You then jump into the 66 IIa ambulance only to have that die at the gas station after forgetting to turn off the head lights. Then it wont start as the plugs are done...open spare parts box and find empty spark plug box. Then you get picked up by a friend and driven home. All this for a pizza....that I did not even get.

It's online under the DOL "Specialty Plates" section. It states that "Antique" and "Horseless Carriage" registrations are issued only the rear plate.

It was heading south to the US, going North my wife and the border guard were discussing her dimond ring. That is going to cost me a bundle

When you can read the oil stains on the driveway and tell precisely what part of the driveline is leaking and what part needs oil.

This winter I have had one question asked to me numerous times.

Is there any heat in that thing?

I have come up with a standard answer "It's adequate"

Maybe someone will apply for a PHd in psychology for reading stress levels in Rover owners, by reading the stains on the ground and on the chassis?
Similar to palm reading, maybe ?

When you start looking at the trip up and down Rt. 128 to RN as less of a drive and more of an opportunity to check for loose parts.
No, its not a Jeep...update, actually it is for right now. I am temporarily Rover-less.

You know your (going) to drive a series rover when... you work in a high end sports car repair shop and it pains you to sit and wait for your first series, stuck here reading about everyone else and their, ahem...blissful ownership!

you know you're driving,,, when,,,on the highway when asked "how fast are we going" by your passenger you really can't tell because your spedo is bouncing from 50 to 70 mph, so you really can't answer with accuracy, and besides they can't hear you from the road noise anyway.
