Sorry, that is a little deceiving. The wheel and tire you see is a 9.00 X 16 that I plan to run. It is propped up against, which you can just barely see, the securely mounted in place with drive flange and lug nuts, 235 ?? X 16!

This is my first Land Rover. 1973 SIII RHD. Colonel in the Air Force brought it back from the UK. Freshening up a few things before putting it back on the road. New carb, distributor, fuel pump, master cylinders, slave, wheel cylinders and exhaust. Can't wait to drive her!

Nice looking SIII. Originally from Leeds, by the look of it.

What would be the indicators it would be from Leeds? This being my first Land Rover, I'm enjoying filling my head with everything LR I can at the moment!

My family bought a new Discovery Series 2 in 1999 when I turned 16. That rover made camping and ski trips with friends an absolute dream. I have always been a Land Rover fan. Two months ago, I became an addicted enthusiast. I passed an aging dealership that had a classic Land Rover out front. After inspecting and test driving the thing, I knew I wanted it, but I knew nothing about it. I spent 14 hours over the course of 2 days reading everything I could get my hands on. I no longer wanted the Land Rover, I NEEDED it. The dealer had mentioned that he was being forced to close so everything had to go by week's end or it would hit auction. I brought him a lowball check and he agreed to sell.

I became the proud owner of a 1969 Series IIA. I have been scouring this forum for the last few months and it has proved to be an incredible resource, and supportive community. I like it here...

                        Too many words...

This is a pic of my partner inspecting our new toy when I brought it home.

I had to take the top off for summer.

                        I drive my rover everyday.

I have been surprised how simple everything is on this truck, but a lot of the casual maintenance I have done was made very easy thanks to the information on this forum. Thank you all for building such an incredible knowledge base and I hope to start contributing in the future.

Looks like a fun toy. Is everything else in as good of condition as the paint?

As far as I can tell, the paint is the worst part. I replaced th entire hydraulic system for the clutch, but the rest runs like factory new... for the 60"s
