Lets see, after sorting out the front and rear brakes on a friends Toyota, I replaced the nasty looking fuel filter on Cedryck. Truck seemed to like that, and then load up the doggies for their sunday ride. My two year old fawn colored Pit bull has destroyed the already decaying interior of my 88, because he cannot sit still when we find the back roads, his large frame has made holes in the seats, time for a new interior,,,,,
What did you do to your Rover today?

Interested in any elephant hide (grey textured vinyl) pieces that you may be discarding. Also, terriers are single minded diggers. Get a dog guard and put him in the back with a stall mat and some chewies, or he'll tear up anything you put in there.Comment

Bought the crimp tool from Autosparks for less than anyone in the USA was selling them for. I learned that you're supposed to put the bullet in the tool and close it so the bullet is held in place. THEN put the wire in and crimp. Otherwise you need 3 hands.Comment

Yes good advice there, but I like to use the spare tire carrier that carries my spare standing up and kind of takes up the space for the gaurd, and I have considered that, Instead, I leave the crappy looking interior in the truck and plan to buy a good set of elephant, or deluxe seats, to use for shows, etc.Comment

well got bit with a little bit of the while your at it with the truck. The radiatior needs to be recored, should have that back pretty soon. The bottom of the radiator panel and frame in the area of the battery stand had a little surface rust so I pulled both wings and cleaned and painted the forward part of the frame. I have the rad panel out and its getting sandblasted tomorrow. I also worked on two of the riveted wheels which will be going back on the truck. I had a little oops during the work. I knocked the generator off the bumper and the pulley broke in two pieces S#!T !!!. Found my engine oil leak, it was the feed pipe to the head.
It had been repaired but not successfully. I sourced a new one. Also ordered all new hose, a belt and T stat.

Got in the Disco this morning to go to work, and the power steering made lots of noise and I have fluid on the driveway. So, I hopped in the Series, I knew it wouldn't let me down!Comment

Finding a suitable location for the plug was the hardest part. Most of the rear crossmember is boxed. That spot was the only place that gave me enough open area to bolt the plug to the crossmember without getting into trouble. I had to remove some of the the grab/lift handle. You can see it only has one bolt, when it should have two.
Oh, the other cool bit to that nato plug is that the back side is wired into a flat 4 male plug, so down the road when I need to use a different trailer, it'll be a plug n' play affair.'67 sIIa 88Comment

Conversion Continues
Just finished the RH side of the ROAM Disc Brake Conversion - went pretty well considering it was the first time I'ver had the axle apart. I got really lucky in that the previous owner installed new swivel balls and new half shafts from terra firma - everything was in great shape. I just ordered my new dual circuit master cylinder and new lines. I am hoping to convert to DOT 5 fluid - the only part left in the circuit is the rear cylinders - BTW how would I flush those out? Keep bleeding until I feel like all the fluid is new?Comment

Suggest that you put in new seals, so you'd take them apart, clean them up and inspect the bores for pits and corrosion. Probably a good idea to just go ahead and install new, but that's just me.Comment
