Replaced the starter solenoid. I spent way more time researching for the correct part then actually doing the job. She fired right up after all the wires were attached. Gotta love Lucas electronics (i'm actually surprised smoke didn't come from somewhere...)Comment

Rerplace two blown fuses and I still do not have power to my extra power outlets. I am going to have to find somewhere warm and start chasing wires. UGGGGH1968 Series IIA

fuel tank
Replaced the fuel tank on the 88. Old tank had been repaired at the necks before and the welds had started to leak. In the process, I learned that 1/4 full on my fuel gauge = 5 gallons. All this time, I've had a 20 gallon tank and never realized it....
Just in time to take it on the PCRC Snow Run at Steven's Pass, WA!

I got my bearings and shims to rebuild my diffs..... fun times. They better outlive me now. It has taken longer because when I ordered the bearings first, they came without outer cup races. I had to order those separately.
The new bits..... bearings, pinion depth shims and spider gear shims.
The guts....

Timken bearings along with other brands were made in my hometown for a long time. Funny how I purchase these bearings when in the U.K. and bring them back to the very town they were manufactured in.1973 NADA 88Comment

Yep, tapered bearings and races are sold separately as a pretty solid rule. The exception are sets, typically front wheel bearings for auto applications. Those typically have S as part of the part number. S2, S6, etc.
