If you take a brass brush to those scratches on the filler cap and surround, it tends to blend them in quite nicely. (at least it did on mine)

I gave Mike Rowe a run for his money and discovered a whole new world of dirty jobs
I took it to the car wash and pressure washed the entire underside, which barely made a dent in the caked on oil and grease but did make working under there marginally nicer.

Greased everything with a zerk - is it normal to see the old grease come slithering out like Kraft easycheese?

Changed the oil in the front axel and diff - what came out looked a bit like someone throwing up a night of Guinness and oatmeal. Sorry for the graphic description

Oh, I also mounted my new color matched 3 cell LED maglite and replaced the stainless bolts holding my winch on with hardened bolts.

Went to the gas station for the first time in 16 years. Brakes still need to be dialed in. Speedo wasn't working. Steering is a little off but ran well and was very gratifying to actually get it out on the road.

Fun facts...when it was first on the road gas was 35 cents a gallon; when it last ran it was $1.25 and today $3.45.

Put in all new window channels. Cleaned all of the glass really well and wire wheeled all of the parts. Also pulled all four of the roof vents, wire wheeled them, painted them and reinstalled the vents. After the new headliner goes in the trim rings will go back on. Great day!
Also found that the Rustoleum "Stainless steel" looks ok on the rusted trim and capping. That is until I can afford to pull it all and have it galvanized.

No. we were married on the beach about 7 hours from home. Driving the rover there didn't seem the best choice

only 3.45 /gallon? Lucky blokes. In the Republic of Canuckistan, I am paying 107.9/Litre. It takes 3.78 litres to make a US gallon. I am better off than most as larger centres pay more. Seems criminal as it is pumped and refined in our back yard.

The Rover, did nothing. The rainfall is washing it off in the drive.

No kidding. If you had cold feet last minute I'm guess it would have chosen that moment to not work.

Plus your wife probably doesn't want oil stains on her dress in the pictures.

finally put the proper size tire on the bonnet.
looks kind of funny. but atleast if i get a flat i'll be able to drive it home

31 inch tire way up there
do they make a thinner 31 inch tire?
