    Thats the passenger communication lever which flashes a light on the dash in morse code to allow conversation at high way speeds.

                              If it was Amcordo's truck it would stand for Redhead.

                              Of course with many of the redheads I know the lever is most likely used to both get her in AND get her out.

                                We're hanging here!!

                                Being FFR, I would think that your truck used to have a PTO winch or rear PTO or rear PTO winch. The knob probably came of something else to replace a broken mushroom type and the winch/rear PTO was probably removed when the truck was put out of service.
