Well. What do we have here? It's #360 - currently being brought out of a decade-plus "hibernation" in Los Angeles. Nothing too crazy - just the simple hurdles of a Clayton Dewandre remote servo and a Ford 289 conversion - done relatively well, but not without the occasional steel band-aid. Going to have to sort those out...and there was the removal of a sink, LPG stove and piles of styrofoam! None of it had the Dormobile badge. It's going to be a fun one!
Cheers,

ps... great user name, "zephyr". I used to live up in Lake Tahoe and fished for trout in the evenings at the boat launch near Zephyr Cove.Leave a comment:

I did not go looking for my Speedometer, but did look it up in my NADA Parts Catalogue. The Part Number is 559159. It is a Smith SN3391-03. The Catalogue indicates that this speedometer had not been used in prior 109's.

I went to my April 1987 Parts Catalogue for the Series IIA and looked up 559159. It is shown on Page 2D 11 with the notation "2.6L Petrol Models". If my memory serves me correctly the top speed shown on Clarence's Speedometer is 90 MPH. I hope this helps.

I had sent it to nisonger and in talking with the boys at RN on Friday they said it was prob a 1408... a dash to my reality as a PO had replacced it with a later 88 speedometer so it was always displaying speeds that were faster than actual

Can someone who has an original NADA 109 speedometer look on it to find the number printed on it ( in the middle on the right it is the revs per mile) and reply - having my non original fixed and calibrated and figure that it would be easier to give them the spec # rather than measure and roll
Before I start a search for it I thought it prudent for me to check with you and insure you still need the information you requested..

NADA 109
Greetings, to update your registry.
The 109 you have listed as #278 is actually #298.
This is the Blue 109 that was owned by Jamie Thompson and has recently sold to a new owner that will be taking it to upstate NY.
Thanks.

Availability NADA Parts Manual and Shop Manual
The British Northwest Land-Rover Company Is offering The NADA Parts Catalogue and The NADA Shop Manual Supplement. Both are offered as New. Over the past few years I have forwarded pages from the former to members who needed them.
I was unaware of the existence of the Shop Manual Supplement. It was not offered to me when I purchased Clarence in 1968. They are offered at approximately $40.00 each.
I have ordered the Shop Manual. My "B" Posts have arrived. I am waiting for Paul Halley to produce my Bulkhead. He appears to have experienced every conceivable manufacturing road block. I fear it will make him old before his time.
If you are serious about restoring and maintaining your unit I recommend that you acquire both publications.
