Aaron, do you have the socket to remove the nut on the end of the tailshaft, to swap in the clutch for the old output gear? If you need it, you can borrow mine.
after blowing up your picture, I question how good the teeth are on that clutch. You can't have any play in the fit to the OD mainshaft. It it slips, it will take out a $350 mainshaft.
ive got the tool
when i got my rover someone had pulled the overdrive and left it wide open. i had to pull the old clutch off the main shaft to put the gear back in. i unfortunately gave it away not knowing how much they cost. thats a brand new clutch and bearing fron RDS. i put the clutch in the main shaft and there is no play what so ever. does anyone have experence with the quality of RDS parts?
aaron
i put an ad on craigslist and someone answered a few weeks later
it was 600 without the clutch

Pulled the instrument panel and fascia around it off to reroute some wires from POs and figure out why the vent selector didn't work. Looks like I have to get a new cable for the vent as this one the inner wire work hardened and snapped. Curious if i can just replace the inner wire instead of getting a whole new part. Regardless looks like the rest of the dash is coming off. Guess I know what I'll be doing Sunday.
Started to believe there is a Santa as I replaced the springs and shocks (just the rear so far) with RM parabolics and procomp shocks and it went seamlessly. Every nut came off without cutting or even much cursing. And with one minor exception that was easily resolved it went back together the same way. I have to admit that of any task I had taken on so far this one scared me the most but thankfully at least for the back half my low expectations were no where close to met.
Merry Christmas to all!

Continued disassembling the rover. got the pass Side doorpost track welded in and cut some of the footwell out. Hope to have the passenger side done tomorrow. Wish me luck!
Got my '65 charging again! Used the RN conversion page, Terri Ann's site and also one other for reference. Had to try and figure out where everything went and what was going on with mine.
Of course it does help if you don't fry your diode's AFTER you have tested the alternator to make sure that was not part of the problem.
