What did you do to your Rover today?

Drove the Rover up to the top of the mountains with my wifes ex. We got a mule deer buck so the Rover is now properly broken in. Put the rear tire carrier on and it is great freed up a ton of room in the back (needed it to put the Deer in the back). Just put on the rad muff as it is getting colder now it works great. Waiting pactiently for my new to me 200 TDI so it will have more power for climbing the mountains.

The rover has been great it is my daily driver and I couldn't be happier.

Congrats on the deer! That's an excellent use of a Land Rover if ever there was one!

It was a give and take this weekend. I spent Friday getting the plow ready and in turn my faithful truck saved my back all weekend!!

Hardtop went on for Winter today, that is no fun

I swapped the soft top for the pickup cab a week ago on my 109 in prep for colder weather. Today I used the 109 to haul home a ton of wood pellets in fifty 40 pound bags. I did have to drop down into first gear on one of the long uphills on the way home....

After 20+ straight years of Series II ownership I let my 1966 MOD 109 go. It remains to be seen if I'll get another. I'm into the Golden (olden) years & I seem to need my comfort more that before.

Have you ever left the soft top on for winter? I find it to be warmer (and quieter) than the hard top.

Adjusted the fanbelt so the PS pump doesn't squeal as much.

Also used the rover to rescue a VW load of girls with a flat tire. Of course it isn't until the next morning that I realized I should've had pictures .

I considered it but the soft top is just not as tight as the hard top. I sacrifice the noise for the heat

It's not as tight, but it doesn't conduct the cold to the same extent, either. Just saying.

Haven't had my hard top on in 5 years - and it gets cold up here.

You are considerably north of me, though I have to say putting top on is such a pain in the butt that it is going to stay there for now. I might consider insulating it if I have the time, we will see. Stay warm
