Next Challenge is getting a serpentine pulley for the engine - I don't think that was standard for Daihatsu.

I was looking at the pictures admiring your work and I noticed the LR written on the spring. Do these letters have any significance? I can't remember if the front springs have a front and back or can go on any which way. If the LR did mean something I would think that would be the rear of the left spring?!?! I know someone will set me straight, thanks!

Probably left rear spring of the truck. I don't recall ever seeing a front or back of the spring itself. That's unless it has a wedge shaped spring pad.

Edit: Nevermind...I just caught on to the fact that the spring is on the front of the truck (unless it's a rear steer setup!). Perhaps the LR just indicates it's a spring for a Landrover...

All four Springs had LR on them. Spacing was same either way - I ended up looking at a picture on the site to see which way they should go. Originally I would of thought Left Rear? But definately not. Maybe - LR = Land Rover?

LR= Land Rover, that made too much sense to me and I had to over complicate things. I think I've been trouble shooting to many problems and not spending enough time behind the wheel lately!!!!

The fumes from too much 90wt makes me a little slow on the uptake too! You're not alone!

New gas tank treated with Waxoyl, new fuel guage sender. Haven't had a working gas guage in 6 months. Life is good.

I'm taking a stab at repairing my swivel housing. I got one side pulled apart yesterday afternoon and will try the other side this week if i get time.

Damn! I'm riding with you on the next outing! That looks comfy! Looks like I am going to have to get some new seats for my rig, my wife is complaining about the old original deluxe seats. Just bid on a pair of Defender seats and a set of escape gear seat covers over on D-90.

Getting close to back together. Dressed in Pontiac Blue. I tried the Detroit Diesel Green, but I couldn't live with it. Still waiting on a few minor bits- like injectors.

                            Late night boredom

Pulley, sans fan. Am installing an electric fan with a variable switch- will be able to regulate for summer or winter driving without changing the thermostat. Installing electric fan requires a change in alternators to carry the load (fan=10-16 amps). see below.

Injector Pump Needle - Still a little off. Need to advance one more spline, i think. Any thoughts?

bracket modified to fit Delco 10Si. This was very easy. Not a lot of instruction available online pertaining to the physical mouunting (The Pangolin kit will not fit a diesel)- probably not really needed, but I was cautious about making the move. Once done, I was amazed at the ease in making it fit. I used a friend's alt to tst fit and have a 10Si (7127) on order. The trick is to use a double pulley alternator to ensure proper belt alignment, not so easy to find these days- at least in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Installed rear swing out tailgate and upper lift gate. Tail lamps on and new bullets crimped on their wires. Lift handles on. Roof vents in. Sorted out intercooler mount on the breakfast. Also figured out the way to mount the radiator support so it misses the steering box AND lets one remove the steering box without messing with the radiator. #noodled.

Even if it's rarely used, a bullet crimper was some of the best money I've spent. Keeps everything looking stock.
